Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What's the danger from black holes? I've heard that there are millions of black holes circling around us in space all the time, and we might get sucked into one...

Our science geek replies...

A. The probability of the earth being sucked into a black hole is billions and billions and billions and billions and billions of times smaller than the probability of the earth getting hit by a doomsday-asteriod which is billions and billions and billions and billions and billions of times smaller than the probability of YOU getting hit by a car when you cross the road. So my advice on black holes is to look both ways before you cross the road.

Q. What the heck is this Razmo Radio Corporation all about?

A. Crazy Alien and The Mystery Guitar Player were sat around drinking beer one night, and suddenly decided that a good thing to do would be to have an internet radio station that only transmitted improvised music, all of course played by RAZMO. After a brief period of excitement it was realised that internet radio is really very poor and takes an awfully large amount of money and effort to provide even a small number of listening streams. So the Crazy Alien decided that the Razmo website would instead be based on a fictitious 'Razmo Radio Corporation', and that we could do jingles and make our own radio-style shows. So that's where it came from, - Beer and excitement.

Q. Is Razmos music really improvised?

A. Yes. Unless otherwise labelled, all tracks were improvised, made up as we played it live, and recorded as best we could at the time, often onto minidisc in the early days, but more recently onto a Fostex R8 eight track tape machine, and then mixed down at Crazy Alien studios. We may from time to time include a few recordings from our multi-track studio sessions where overdubs were possible, and these will be labelled as such. But generally, it's ALL fully improvised. Okay, okay, riffs and lyrics recur sometimes, but we never know when until it happens...

Q. So why all the different names, you know, like 'Underwater Lesbian Sex Babes in Spandex' and Bulgarian R's?

A. Every one of our jam sessions is different so we try to make up a unique name for each session. - its like recording another album every week. -Razmo may eventually release a limited edition boxed set of all our recordings , which is probably going to consist of about two hundred CDRs in a wooden crate. -Watch this space!
