Musical Instruments Page
Here we get the chance to discuss our tastes in musical instruments, effects boxes, drums, cymbals, in fact anything and everything that makes our sounds. In some cases we love to share the way we make sounds, and in other cases we're just not telling !!!!
Crazy Aliens Recommendations.
As an Alien, I of course play the bass and generally use a simple arrangement
of two pedals into a Traynor 80watt Bass combo Amplifier.
The guitar is fed firstly into a Zoom 506 mk2 bass effects pedal, which has
loads of different sounding patches and a built in tuner, and then into a Bespeco
Cruncher pedal that acts as either a volume pedal or as a gritty distortion
unit. The signal then feeds directly into the combo.
The Bespeco pedal was a very low cost item, (made in Italy) and its distortion
channel does sound fairly nasty if you feed a six string guitar through it into
a guitar amp. But with a bass guitar and bass combo, the cruncher adds a sharp
but rounded top end to the sound that lets it cut through the most frantic soundfield.
It truly excels when used with bass guitars and amps.

I bought my pedals in A.A.C. Music in Guildford, England and can heartily recommend
this chain of shops as offering great value for money and not ripping you off,
as so many other dealers try to do these days. Look 'em up in the phone book!
Aliens acoustic
stuff...
My favourite acoustic guitar
is a Norman, which I believe are made in Canada. It has a solid top with a matt
finish and is just ideal for finger-picking styles. I love it.
Daves Recommendations
My musical menagerie
consists of a Fender Strat and a Hohner Telecaster, through a Laney LC30 amp
and
2x12 cabinet, via an array of effects units; Crybaby wah wah, Electro Harmonix
Big Muff distortion, Marshall Drivemaster distortion, Rockson Phaser, Zoom 606
multieffects, Korg volume pedal, and an Ibanez Digital Delay.
Acoustically, I use a Cimar 6-string and Hondo 12-string. I also enjoy the occasional
dabble with Theremin, Rababa, mandolin, spring drum, recorder, kazoo, and anything
else that comes to hand.........................

To stand a chance of being
heard use the following:
1. Microphone
2. Microphone lead
3. Maybe a P.A with power supply.
4. Not forgetting a voice.
Oh yeah, and never tell 'em
you love 'em till they've bought you a drink.
